Life’s journey often leads us into places where the way forward seems unclear or completely blocked. In Exodus 14:16, God made a way through the Red Sea, not one step before obedience, but as Moses acted in obedience. This reminds us that provision is often revealed in motion. When we trust God and move forward despite our fear or uncertainty, we begin to see that what looked like an obstacle can become a pathway.  It is not easy to see at first, and it will be IMPOSSIBLE to see if our lives are entangled in carnality and self-interest, but, if we slow down and step back, we can begin to understand what is truly required of us.

It is not enough to be told what to do or even to do it, without a deep-seated understanding and a heartfelt commitment to it, we will always find ourselves coming short of our full stature.  It is when our heart is in it that our life’s story will sing, and we will experience the reality of our pathway made plain and open in the light.

Proverbs 15:19 teaches that perspective matters deeply: “The way of the slothful man is like a hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.” The same life can feel either tangled or directed depending on our posture. When we walk uprightly—seeking God, staying diligent, and refusing to give up—the path becomes clearer. The difficulty may still be there, but it no longer defines the journey; instead, it shapes us along the way.

Isaiah 30:21 offers a comforting promise: “This is the way, walk in it.” Even when we don’t see the full picture, God is faithful to guide us step by step. His voice may not always be loud, but it is steady and sure. In every challenge, every delay, and every decision, He provides not only the way, but also the assurance that we are never walking it alone.
